I'm getting real close to being finished with this TIE Fighter and I couldn't be more excited. It's been a fun ride, but it'll be nice to work on something new. As to what that'll be- who knows! Today's work involved a lot of detailing on the full front of the cockpit, the back and some color variation. Ultimately, I decided to go with the Empire Strikes Back / Return of the Jedi color pallet. Which differs from a New Hope in that it's blueish rather than a flat gray.
A lot of the work focused on getting the thin panel lines across the front/back of the cockpit. Which has been a pretty big pain. About as much of a pain as building anything on a curved surface to be fair- but regardless, the vessel really is taking shape now and now only the top of the cockpit, and a bit of work on the engine on the back is left. Perhaps one or two more updates and this craft will finally be finished.
