It's been a short while since I've gotten a chance to update everyone on the progress of the AT-ST. But I can at least say there's been some decent progress made. The lower leg joints are finished along with the foot pads themselves.
The walker's legs actually have 4 different sections, so there's still a ways to go, but the blocking on the second joint section is now about finished. This took a bit of adjustment, as this set of joints needed to look beefy, without looking too tall or heavy.
As usual, it's always really fascinating to see all the design details that are put into these old school star wars vessels. Not to crap on the newer stuff done in the prequels or under Disney. But old school sci-fi designs always had such a detail focused look to their designs. Perhaps that had something to do with a lot of old school models actually being physical models?
