It may not seem like it at first, but I've made some serious progress on the TIE Fighter. First off, there's a cockpit, or least the shell of one. The arms are now fully complete and are only missing a couple details that will tie it together with the cockpit itself; which is why I'm holding off for now.

The cockpit itself has been its own challenge, working on a curved surface is a bit of a pain. But luckily there's less detail then the wings, so progress should continue rather quickly.

The windshield was my primary task this weekend, working out the fine details of what honestly may be the most important aspect of the craft next to the wings themselves. I've taken a lot of time and care to make sure the shape was just right and the finer details no one will notice- are also there.

Next I'll probably start fleshing out some of the larger elements to the cockpit, the bottom hatch (I think it's a hatch anyways), the top hatch and the ion reactor in the back. Once those elements have been finished, it should be just a matter of filling in the blanks.
